A very confusing night, Harry had last night, he didn't really know for sure, if it was something or... absolutely nothing, he might have misread the signs but there was a little part of it that was absolutely undeniable. Anyway, it wasn't really a good time to think about it, but yet again, it just wouldn't leave his mind. Great ! First last year's memories haunt him and now this ! Brilliant !
Only that Harry wanted to let out some steam, the only possibilities were either hexing someone, which was out of the question, or flying it off. He waited until it was noon, and grabbed his firebolt and uniform from his dorm before heading to the gryffindor locker room. After changing and getting wormed up, he took a snitch and a Bledger from the closet. He made sure to release both long before mounting his broom.
Once both were out of sight, he headed out, bat in the left hand, searching for the golden flying ball that irritated him at most. As soon as he spotted it, he went after it, and after a few minutes he was almost able to catch it, but things kept popping into his mind and he lost control, not very high from the ground and slowly crashed, sliding on the stadium. Harry lifted himself up and sat on the ground, mentally smacking himself for getting so easily distracted, he ahd to make those try-outs for the team soon and HE can't even grow to his own expectations ! This was a serious problem

Darius muttered under his breath, heading down to the Hufflepuff locker room near the Quidditch pitch. He had a dark look on his face, which was caused by the accidental running into his twin brother who was amongst his Slytherin fellows. After enduring insults and taunts from all of them, Axel included, D had barely managed to walk away without hexing any of them. He was thankful for his calm temperament learned from Quidditch; otherwise he would most likely be in detention right now.
Heaving a sigh, the seventh year reached the locker room and changed into his Quidditch robes. Some fresh air would do the Hufflepuff some good, and perhaps he could even manage to think of a few well chosen insults for the Slytherins next time he came across them. Even Axel; but really, his brother's taunts hadn't surprised him. Hell, he basically expected it from him nowadays.
Carrying his broomsticks out onto the pitch, Darius was surprised to see another student out and about. And was just in time to see him crash, sliding on the pitch. The Hufflepuff mounted his broom and skimmed over to the guy, wondering why he was so distracted. Until he saw who it was.
"You alright there, Potter? Seems like you got a lot on your mind."
D spoke, staying put on his barely above ground broom. Everyone knew who Harry was, so it should come as no surprise that Darius recognized the boy.

harry Stumbled for his glasses and luckily they were close by, he looked up to where the voice came from and saw an older boy, in Hufflepuff robes. Yeah, i'm fine, I just lost balance, that's all He took a minute to get to his feet and straighten himself up, he leaned down and picked up his firebolt, turning back to the puff.
he realized they hadn't met before, although he was sure, he had seen this boy in slytherin robes just the same morning. Weird huuh ? Maybe we've got ourselves a new prankster ! Although Snape wouldn't appreciate someone impersonating one of his students. Umm, this is going to sound completely daft, but weren't you a slytherin this morning ?
As dumb as that sounded, it was a reasonable question, then it hit him, he HAD seen this boy in last year's quidditch game, he was a puff alright ! He extended his hand to him to shake , i'm Harry
Simple introduction, no last names needed, the guy already said it before, though Harry's last move wasn't really so smart since he did know him, bah , anyway, it was a way to get him to introduce HIMSELF. pretty stupid to the ear, but really smart for the mind.

Whilst waiting for a reply from Harry, Darius cast his hazel colored eyes around the pitch. It was an alright day; a few clouds here and there but not enough for a chance of rain, the sun shining brightly in the blue sky overhead. He felt the warmth of it on his face, and instantly his dark mood lightened up making him feel much calmer than he had before. D was never one to go without a smile on his face, after all. He wasn't known as the Hufflepuff with problems; he was known as the Hufflepuff to go to with problems.
He nodded to Harry's response, understanding exactly where he came from. Balance wasn't exactly Darius' best trait, after all. Axel was the one whom flitted about on broomsticks with grace; D, with determination and a sense of freedom. Sure, he was a little bit reckless when in Quidditch matches but sometimes that was necessary in order to get points for the team.
Darius blinked at his question, but then realized he was talking about his brother. "No, mate, that's my twin brother Axel. He's a git, I'd stay away from him if I were you." He informed Harry; Axel was already ruining too many lives with his insults and taunts as it was. So D felt he was doing the other a favor by warning him away from Axel. When Harry extended his hand, Darius done the same and shook his hand in reply.
"The name's Darius; but call me D if you like." The Hufflepuff replied; nearly everyone else did, anyway. He looked at Harry's Firebolt curiously, thinking him lucky to have received such a good broomstick.
"So what brings you out here, Harry?"

Yeah , everyone gets their share of slytherin gits around here, Malfoy was enough pain in the neck for Harry, he felt really bad for Darius for actually living with one. Harry smiled when he mentioned what his brother was like yeah, thanks, i already have my own git,so..
Honestly, Flying is the only way that I can feel free., yeah, that and Ginny,Plus, I think a little exercise would be helpful before the try-outs. What position are you playing this year ? Hufflepuff always had a good team, even though they got third place last year, right under Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, but they always gave one hell of a fight for it. Maybe they would even win the quidditch cup this year.
He noticed Darius was eyeing his broom, he lifted it up, "want to try it ? It's incredibly fast, it has all the features any quidditch player would dream of, great control, very light. What people should understand is Quidditch was like...american football in Hogwarts, the most important subject there could be among the males, that and, witches, but it was mostly quidditch, and Harry felt really lucky for being so good at it, and receiving this firebolt from Sirius.

Darius couldn't help but grin when Harry told him he had a git of his own. It seemed they shared a dislike of Slytherins; at least, that was what D was assuming. Harry was Gryffindor, after all. The biggest house rivalry at Hogwarts was between Gryffindor and Slytherin; not one student from either house got along with the other. Well, again, on the Hufflepuff's assumptions. As to whether they were true or not, Darius really didn't know. But he somehow doubted Slytherin would accept one of their own having a friendship with one of Gryffindor's. It just didn't work.
"I'll agree with you on that. Flying gives me a brilliant sense of freedom," he nodded enthusiastically in response. Quidditch was one way he could get back at Axel whenever Hufflepuff and Slytherin had a match against each other, regardless if his brother was in the team or not. And Quidditch gave him thrills; thrills one can only find in the air on a broomstick. "I'm playing Chaser this year; I was none too good at being a Beater last year. Merlin's pants, I almost injured someone as a Beater." Darius chuckled; he found it amusing now, but he hadn't at the time it happened.
"You still playing Seeker as per usual? I tell you, I don't reckon Gryffindor's had a better Seeker." D grinned again, definitely in higher spirits than he had been earlier before. It helped to know that whatever Slytherin did to him, there was always a friendly face to talk to and cheer up. It was what was wonderful about Hogwarts.
His eyebrows shot up at Harry's offer, almost gaping in awe. "You sure, Harry? I don't wanna ruin it or anything. It's a beaut of a Firebolt. And my balance is awful." The Hufflepuff chuckled again.

Harry nodded at his response, Yeah, nothing like a little of flying to get your spirits up. It was true that Quidditch was liberating, but as always, slytherins found a way to ruin anything that's amazing. They brought violence and hate with them on to the field, which usually caused some people to lose their temper. People like Fred and George.
He listened to him talk, and nodded in understanding, it was only when he complemented him that Harry grinned like a dummy and tried to cover it, raising his hand to scratch the back of his head, "Thanks. You weren't that bad as beater last year, you could have made it in that position, i'm sure if you practiced enough you would have been brilliant ! He watched Darius before in a match, and like anybody else, e could use some work, but he had skill, it was obvious, it just needed to be worked on.
He threw the firebolt in his direction,You'll be fine, just a piece of advice, to avoid accidents, when you first take off, aim for the sky, it's really...fast and surprising he chuckled , remebering the first time he rode it, it almost ripped his head off, it just...blew off with him.
People always said brooms had temper, and the firebolt had a nasty one, it was a scary broom but still the fastest there is. He didn't worry about it much, he just worried about Darius, that it might take him by surprise and shoot him right through the wall, it was best if he would go up for his first try, once he got the hang of it, it would be easy.

Darius had his reasons for wanting to rub Hufflepuff successes in Axel's face. One, because he knew he'd go writing to Mother about it. Two, because the git deserved it. D wouldn't stoop to the Slytherin's level, but he'd still have his fun. And Axel loathed it when his younger by half an hour brother beat him at something, regardless of what it was. The thought made D smirk momentarily.
He noticed how Harry grinned at his compliment and then raised his hand to scratch the back of his head. "Practice? Bah, trust me, I tried and tried. I think I'll be better as Chaser." He waved a hand, only speaking the truth. Darius liked to think he was suited better to the Chaser position, anyway. Gave him a lot more freedom in the Quidditch pitch, so to speak.
Darius caught the Firebolt, lowering his own broomstick to the ground. He felt a tad nervous about this, but something was tugging at him to try the Firebolt. After all, it was very rare to touch a Firebolt, let alone ride one. "Well, since you insist... but if I fall, I blame you." The Hufflepuff joked to Harry, mounting the broomstick cautiously.
And just like that, he shot off upwards into the sky. A shout of surprise was heard from the seventh year boy.

The way he got shot to the sky was expected, the shout was pretty expected too. Harry looked up, following Darius getting smaller and smaller until it was hard to see him well. Harry looked down to the broom on the ground and slowly picked it up.
After examining it, Harry found out that it wasn't such a bad broom after all, though he could use something better. He mounted the broom and elevated slowly, getting the hang of it, who knew what this broom was like ?
Right about then, the snitch he had released earlier became in sight. Not aware of the change, Harry bolted right behind it. It wasn't until he was very close that he remembered this wasn't his broom, and the thoughts went on, it was Darius' broom, he's on the puff team, a chaser, who''s chaser for Gryffindor ? Yeah right, Angelina, Ginny and...Ginny, she was on the team, it means he's going to see her more often.
He snapped out of his thoughts to find himself literally inches away from the golden snitch, he reached for it but still couldn't get close enough to catch it. He kept shaking the broom hoping it would go faster, but it just wouldn't. and before he knew it, he was on the ground, once more, cussing under his breath.

The Firebolt was better than he could have ever dreamed of, and before he knew it Darius was a long way from the Quidditch pitch ground. The air was incredible, bolstered by the fact he was on one of the world's most powerful broomsticks. A big cheesy grin was plastered on the Hufflepuff's face, clearly enjoying his time on the Firebolt. He zoomed around the Quidditch pitch, taking great pleasure in the simple flying of it. D gripped it tightly so as not to fall off; he doubted Madam Pomfrey would appreciate having to mend a broken back, and come to think of it neither would he.
He flew closer to where Harry was, but remained slightly higher than the other boy was. So Harry was trying out his broomstick? It was nothing like the Firebolt, so he was most likely going to be disappointed with it. He observed the snitch fly out straight in front of Harry, whom attempted to go after it on the Hufflepuff's broomstick. Darius let out a chuckle, merely shaking his head as he continued to fly.
But then Harry crashed again, and D quickly swooped down to land beside him clumsily. "Brilliant Firebolt, Harry! You're lucky! ...You alright?" He spoke a little breathlessly.

Never been better.. He answered when D asked, while coughing out the dust he inhaled on his way down. Slowly he made his way up on his feet, i'm just not used to it, but it's good, very nice broom. He kept straightening himself while talking. The snitch was out of sight again, but Harry had to catch it soon or it's the ultimate embarrassment.
Thanks, got it as a gift my third year, had it broken because of that stupid excuse for a dragon during the tournament, it took 3 months t ofix it and it's still not the same as before, the bloody thing set it on fire ! God he hated that dragon for ruining his firebolt, and it had to be Sirius' gift to him that got ruined, unlike the nimbus he got on his first year, this had to be fixed, besides the house, this was all he had left of him. Can I ask you something ?
he paused for a minute, hesitating whether to ask or not, and the finally he let it out, You knew Cedric, didn't you ? i mean, you were a fifth year when he was.. here ? usually he didn't talk about Cedric often, but there was something he wanted to know, That year, I know all Hufflepuff were there around him in the common room, did he say anything about me ?

Darius chuckled, getting off the Firebolt that had just quite literally given him the ride of his life. It certainly was an amazing broom, and although the Hufflepuff would have loved one for his own he knew he could never truly afford one. Oh, well. Such was life; maybe when he got out of Hogwarts and into a decent paying job, he'd save up for one. That is, if he was lucky. D pulled himself out of his thoughts and onto Harry's words. 'It does its job, that's for sure." He shrugged, picking his broom up.
"Ahh, the tournament. Yeah, so we saw. Blimey, I'd rather take my chances with the goblins than a bleedin' dragon if you ask me. But then, that's just me. I'm not you." Darius nodded, remembering vaguely the tournament from the year before. He shuddered slightly, the picture of Harry reappearing with Cedric's body still fresh in his mind. And the news that the Dark Lord was back. He perked an eyebrow at Harry's question, but nodded again towards him.
"Cedric... yeah, I knew him. We were friends; not close friends, but we talked enough to consider each other mates." D swallowed lightly; his house had been the most affected by Cedric's death. He himself still didn't know what to make of it, but he missed Diggory. It was too weird without him here at Hogwarts. "He did, a few times. He admired you, Harry. Believe it or not, he did."
