To help Ellie with all the many, many, troubles she has, what ellie really needs is her older brother's support.
Throughout her childhood, no matter what happened, it would be her brother she confided in. She felt like she could tell him anything - and she would, even though she didn't talk to anyone else.
For the most part, her brother would be... Annoying, and arrogant - very, very arrogant - hell he could be a genius if you wanted to do.
You can play him however you like. He could hate everyone apart from his sister, or love everyone and only puts up with Ellie because he has to. xD Though that'd be mean. Could be interesting though.
The point is... It's up to you! However you want to play him, go for it.

- He can be played by anyone. Go nuts. As Ellie is adopted, Bryce doesn't even need to look anything like her. Though their personalities might be the same.
- He's in seventh year. Most likely Slytherin, but he could be in another house if you so wanted.
