As the evening fell, so too did the students of Hogwarts fall down to the ground floor to rush into the Great Hall and feast. The first full day of Hogwarts was now over, the school term officially begun. And already Ellie was bored. Beyond bored. The lessons had been dull, just teachers going over the courses that the year would take. Why did they go to all that bother? Students would forget the curriculum as soon as the left the class, hell, as soon as the got off their seat.
But it was over, just about, so no point being annoyed now. Might as well make the most of it really. Walking slowly down the steps from the first floor to the ground floor she stopped half-way, looking into the crowded hall. The sound coming from the huge hall was like rumbling thunder. No words could be made out, every sound had just combined to become this one massive roar. Taking in a deep breath, and rolling her eyes, she continued down the stairs. Slowly. One little step at a time.
By the time she reached the entrance to the Great Hall, almost everyone else was seated. Most were deep in their conversations, so reached the Slytherin table without any eyes following her along the way. As she headed over to her seat - right by the edge of the long table, of course - her eyes darted up to the Head Table, where the teachers sat. Quickly, she looked through the rank of staff, before turning her bored gaze to the Slytherin table that she had reached, and sat down.
The food in front of her did look good she had to admit. No one in her family could cook a thing. So having meals this good - it was a strange form of heaven. Her eyes sparkled for a second as she filled up her plate. Only then did she look around at who she was sitting next too.
For the most part, Ellie got on alright with the other Slytherins. She wasn't exactly great friends with any of them, but she knew them all, and wasn't bothered by them. Or most of them. She looked down the table to see a couple of the new first years giggling to themselves. From Ellie point of view she couldn't tell what they were laughing about. But she wasn't meant to know, and soon the sight of them giggling made her roll her eyes and turn away.
After the events just before last summer, most of the Slytherins were looking morose and angry. Always very angry. Quite a few of their parents, fathers mainly, had been rounded up to be tried as Death Eaters. Ellie didn't care about that. She thought it was stupid really, this war everyone was talking about. But she wasn't stupid enough to believe she wouldn't be touched by it. Already the Slytherins who had lost parents to Azkaban were growing annoying and snapping at everyone.
It looked like it was going to be an interesting year.

Post by PANSY ELLEN PARKINSON on Sept 10, 2011 11:57:12 GMT
Pansy Parkinson sat through a day of dull lessons. She hated school in all honesty and wished she didn't have to go. The main reason she hated it was because she deffinatly wasn't the brightest girl and she was always in feer of letting her father down. A feer which she was reminded of everytime she opened her blouse to get changed or lifted the hem of her teeshirt. A scar ran across her right side hip a deep and dark shade of red that would never go away. This first day back was no better or different to the previous five before this and Pansy spent the majority of the pointless day of introductions day dreaming of life after Hogwarts.
Finally came the bast sound in the world, the buzzer to signal the end of the school day. The sound was like her favorite music to Pansys ears and she quickly crammed her books and quills ad homework back into her bag. Not that she'd do her homework of course but she would make a student do it on pain of death, probably a Ravenclaw, and they knew not to mess with her after the fiasco as the ministry her her father was now on trial for being a Death Eather though so far there had been no evidence so it looked like he would get off because eventhough he was there that night no one could acctually prove he was involved in the fighting. Which partly Pansy was glad but in another way she wished her father would be locked up so he couldn't hurt her, but you can't have everything he always told her; she had the material things so she couldn't have the emotional things too, her father made her feel so bad about herself she thought she would never have someone to love her and that appeared to be comeing true after all the rumers of Draco with the Greengrass girls.
Pansy sighed and walked back to her dormatory in the Slytherin dungeon and left her bag and took of her robe so she now only had her blouse buttoned almost half way open as usual, her tie lose around her neck, and her short black skirt and high heals to match. Of course this wasn't proper uniform but the teachers were sick of telling her and it was now her signature look; which she herself described as being like a "high class hooker".
Pansy walked through the castle and up the stairs and corridors from the dungeons to the Great Hall where it appeared that the whole school was gathered for the meal. Pansy sighed. It was like the room was filled with a thousand million buzzing bees. The room gave off an air of busyness as plates clattered and students talked and laughed and shouted across tables to their friends in other houses. Pansy often wished for peace and quiet but times like this made the teenager inside of her rather amused; this was always the perfect time to create a sceane and shout insults and abuse at the other houses which Pansy considered a sport in it's self.
Pansy smootheed out her clothes; adjusting her tie to the perfect angle and fluffed her hair so it was in perfect position though looked as if it hung naturally, and stepped into the Great Hall. Eventhough Pansy wasn't a huge fan of Hogwarts there was no denying this room was amazing with its grand archiecture and changing celining, though after five going on six years at the school Pansy hardly noticed it anymore and her feet automatically directed her to the Slytherin table. Pansy sat near the top with some other students from her own year and she greated them with a small hello as she slid in.
Pansy looked to her left to see a girl from her own year whome she wasn't really close to but still talked to occationally "Hey Ellie" Pansy said with a smile and a small wave. Pansy was close with most Slytherins in her own year and some in the year above or below but herself and Ellie oftern had conflicting opinions such at Pansy believed strongly in blood status where as Ellie didn't but they wrre both girls and got along majoritvily.

The evening meal dragged on for a while, with Ellie not paying much attention to the food at first. Her eyes were darting around the hall, trying to spot all of the new first years who were about. It was quite easy to tell, for instance, most of them had gasped or squealed when food appeared before them - just like that! A smirk appeared on her face as she watched a pair of Hufflepuffs grinning and giggling in delight. Stupid 'Puffs. Rolling her eyes, she picked up her fork and began picking at her plate.
It was then that she heard someone approach, and then call out her name. That got her attention instantly, for though she knew all the Slytherins and had talked to them all before, it wsa odd for one of them to single her out to approach. Turning around she spotted Pansy, and a small smile flashed across her face. Well, if it had to be any Slytherin, Pansy was one of the few who Ellie could stand to be around for more than just a short period of time. Even though they disagreed on just about everything...
"'Ello Pansy." She smiled slightly again and nodded in return. She moved over a little to give Pansy a bit more space, in case she decided to sit down. For the most part, Ellie argued with Pansy all the time. There was the stupid bloodline debates they always had. Or really a one-sided argument, with Pansy putting up all these points and causes and opinions and Ellie just looking at her dryly or shrugging every now and then. The whole thing about bloodlines didn't interest her at all. Power was power - whether it came from pureblood, half-blood, or muggleborn. It was all the same, wasn't it?
But she knew Pansy would never accept that, and it was partly due to this stubborn nature that Ellie liked the other sixth year Slytherin girl. She stuck with her beliefs, and hell, that was a great thing to be able to do. She would happily bet money that most of those 'brave' and 'courageous' Gryffindor's would buckle under pressure and try and change what they thought. That annoyed Ellie. A lot.
With a small, slightly amused smile, she looked over at Pansy and asked, "How are you?" A simple question. But one that would allow Pansy to either continue talking to Ellie if she so chose, or answer sharply and let her leave.
Most of the time people chose to leave. And though Eleanor Walker would never show it, she was hurt. She tried to keep everything hidden. To seem mysterious hadn't been her intention, but the enigma of the Slytherin group was now her label. An irritating label. But to show her feelings... Ellie just thought that would make her vulnerable. Instead, she was now cracking from keeping to much under wraps. No one could ever learn of that though. Ever.
